31 Days of Hindsight: Day 21

I love reading back through my journals and actually finding poetry I have written, poetry I would have forgotten had I not recorded it with pen and paper.

I wrote this poem  (as well as jotting down the details of some awesome golf strokes), while on a golf cart, riding alongside my 15-year-old, as he played 18 holes. When I was not watching his game, I penned the words for a rhyme assignment: PROCRASTINATION (write a rhyme about procrastination)

Rhymers For The Lord, Huntsville

**Below is the fruit of that golfing excursion:

Procrastination

Linger, cherish, ponder, savor…

Stall, put off, prolong, belabor…

“Slow and steady” or “I’m not ready”

“The time is now” or “I don’t know how”

“Ready, set” or “I forget”

The seed is there

but the cup is dry;

“Patiently wait” or “procrastinate”

Can you see it?

The things we say

breath life or death into our day.

“Pause and pray” can look the same,

as “procrastinate” by another name.

Only God and you will know,

So simply let HIM steal your show!

NOW GO!

31 Days of Hindsight: Day 21

As we look back over our 2016, do we see areas of procrastination?

Where do we need to let God “steal the show” in our lives?

Are we willing to let HIM have full sway of every day in 2017?

I’m in.

Are you?

Peace out

NOW GO!
