Share The Lamb
Lamb is served as part of a traditional Passover meal. The lamb represents the blood of the spotless, innocent lamb that was applied to the doorpost of Jewish homes in Egypt, in order to spare them from death. The blood not only spared them from death, but ushered them out of slavery into freedom! In serving the Passover meal, it was customary to have more lamb than one household could eat, thus sharing of the lamb was encouraged! You probably see where this is going, considering Easter is still fresh on our hearts. Jesus is our perfect, spotless, innocent LAMB and HIS blood was shed for us and covers us! HIS BLOOD spares us from death and ushers us out of slavery into freedom! THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS!!!! The empty cross and the empty tomb offer eternity in HEAVEN to ALL who choose Jesus-The Lamb! There is more than enough Lamb for ALL! It is still encouraged-SHARE THE LAMB!
As my ears took in and my heart received this beautiful message on “Christ our Passover Lamb” by Chris Hodges, the closing charge was “SHARE THE LAMB”. That message preceded Good Friday and Easter and I am still chewing on “SHARE THE LAMB”. Easter is EVERYTHING! Jesus conquered death and in the past that has been a “really great thing”to me BUT this year and for eternity I have asked GOD to make it EVERYTHING TO ME! I want MORE than “really great” and there is no one to blame for settling for “really great” in the past but me! Amazing Grace is the understatement of the year! There are no human words for how “AMAZING GRACE” truly is!!!! I am resigned to ALL CAPS and !!!!!! to attempt to express my “WOW” of GRACE-CALVARY-THE LAMB! All that to say, knowing THE LAMB is EVERYTHING-He is The Way-The Truth-The Life and no one can come to the Father except through HIM(John 14:6), I want to “SHARE THE LAMB” like never before!
The Holy Spirit empowers us to witness boldly-“SHARE THE LAMB”. We witness as to what we have seen, heard and experienced! Our witness is the overflow of what The Lamb has done and is doing in our lives! We are each unique and thus we take in and overflow differently, but TRUTH stays the same! How do you overflow? I tend to overflow whatever is in my heart through written or spoken word, evidenced by the blog you are reading:) Do you dance, sing, cook, clean, sew, build, paint, draw, do laundry, drive car pool, provide medical services, give legal counsel, teach, encourage, make business deals, farm, lead etc… fill in your blank-do you get the point? We overflow WHO WE ARE into WHAT WE DO! As followers of Christ, WE ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST (Rom 3:22). We “SHARE THE LAMB” or overflow Christ BECAUSE “we are the temple (dwelling place) of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them…” (2 Cor 6:16). I am asking God daily to reveal more and more of HIMSELF to me. HE is faithful and HE is in the business of giving revelation and wisdom when asked for it: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5) As HE gives wisdom and revelation my prayer is to be bold and generous with the overflow!
So today, part of my overflow was a poem. For some reason every time I write a poem I feel like giggling. You see, several years ago, when my faith-walk really began, I was digging in the Word and “a poem” rolled onto the pages of my journal. I was so excited, that I called my husband, who answered in a hushed tone, which means he is in a meeting, and I blurted out, “I wrote a poem”. This precious man and my biggest cheerleader whispered(remember he is still in a meeting), “That’s great sweetie!” I am sure he thought that would be the end of the call but it was not. I proceeded to ask him if he wanted to hear it:) Of course he said, “Sure, now?” and the answer was YES! Little did his coworkers know that their fearless leader was listening to a Jesus poem, authored by his “childlike”-not “childish”(there is a difference:) wife, while the business world forged ahead! While I am a terrible multi-tasker, my husband can beautifully juggle a 100 different things and never let a ball drop. He did not “drop my call” and he did not miss a beat at work! Can you tell he is my hero:)
I thought I would share the poem in order to “SHARE THE LAMB” today! The Lord spoke loudly to me in my “quiet time” this morning! Luke 21:13 says “But this will be your opportunity to tell them about ME!” Just another way to say “SHARE THE LAMB”- Total GOD WINK-no coincidences!
This poem was inspired by Luke 21:28-“…stand and look up, for your salvation is near” and Psalm 34:8-“Taste and see that The Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in HIM.”
I’M STANDING AND I’M LOOKING,
MY POSTURE ON MY KNEES.
I’M PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT,
WHO ENABLES ME TO SEE!
WITHOUT THE SPIRIT’S FILTER,
WE MAY AS WELL BE BLIND.
WE’LL SEE ONLY THE “SEEN”,
BUT MISS “UNSEEN” DIVINE!
TO HAVE A TASTE OF WISDOM,
ONLY THE SPIRIT CAN REVEAL.
IT MAKES US HUNGRY FOR THE FILLING,
A HIGH AND HOLY MEAL!
TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD.
WHEN I RUN TO HIM, I’M BLESSED!
THE WORLD MAY STILL BE CHAOS,
BUT MY SOUL, IT LIVES AT REST!
Have the yummiest blessed day! Taste and see!
May you “overflow” by the power of the Spirit within you, as you “SHARE THE LAMB” like never before! May HIS RESURRECTION change your life-every day of your life! I want to live the rest of my life “AWED BY EASTER!”
