Pitchers of His Presence – #2 Lent Painting

I have always been a little outside of the box. I love seeing treasure sifted from trash and I get giddy when I see someone repurpose things in unexpected ways.
Earrings made from old watch pieces,
bracelets strung from guitar strings,
hair bands out of old telephone chords,
canvases full of paint with sheet music, bible verses and quotes Mod Podged in,
bricks as bed risers,
quilts as wall art,
barn doors in the kitchen,
and headboards from fences,
the list could go on and on.
It changes our perspective when we choose to go through life looking for alternative ways to display beauty in the most unlikely of containers. If you think about it, that is us. We are most definitely a motley crew and yet we are exactly what God had in mind when He fashioned His forever family. We are each uniquely made in the image of God and we are each designed to display His Glory like only we can. You are the only you and I am the only me and we each have this one life to diffuse the aroma of Christ in a myriad of ways.
Our purpose is the same – to know God and make Him known but the way we do that is fantastically personalized.
We get to spend our whole lives becoming who we were created to be, waking up everyday with the creative task of getting to decide,
“How can I radiate Jesus today in such a way as to make people run and jump in His ready and waiting lap?”
“What can I do that is unexpected and super surprising that will make the world around me pause to consider the Heart of a Heavenly Father in hot pursuit of THE WORLD?”
“How can I love in a freakishly fun way so as to hug the heart of the hurting and hopeless until they recognize their immeasurable worth in Christ?”
This post was actually prompted by my #2 Lent Painting. You see precious flowers resting in the repurposed. The creamer pitcher has become a carrier of “the cream of the crop”. The most fragrant aroma is coming from an unlikely vase carrying a bouquet of beauty.
The mundane, messed up and marginalized are never meant to be overlooked. They are strategically positioned to be vessels of honor, holders of the Holy Spirit and containers of Kingdom.
I pray this post helps you see the world around you with new eyes and a Heavenly perspective. Life is intended to be a treasure hunt, not a trash dump. There is gold in every person and we get the honor of digging for it.
We get the privilege of finding uncommon uses for the most common things, of positioning the precious in priceless new ways, and diffusing the fragrance of Christ through the freshest of filters!
