When the Music Ends…

I have the blessing of being part of a journaling group at a local middle school. Below is our writing prompt for this week and my poetic response:)
When the music ends…
~by Katie Wilson
Where does your mind go
when the music ends?
Does your heart sink?
Do you want it to begin again?
Are you one of those
who cannot handle change?
When you think of new,
do you think bad or strange?
But what if music ending,
really signals start?
What if God is planning
a new harvest for your heart?
Could the stagnate puddles
of melodies in the past,
birth the living water
of freedom songs that last?
Is the final note
a springboard to create?
Is it soil that’s rich and ready,
a place to cultivate?
Instead of getting down
when I hear the music fade,
I feel the Lord’s delight
and see the plans He’s laid.
A hope and a future
God has for me and you.
When the music ends…
Out with old and in with the new!
The best is always yet to come!
If you feel inspired, I would love for you to respond in the comments with your response to
When the music ends…
