Stay tuned-More to Come: Home from Costa Rica, overwhelmed by God’s grace & goodness!

I am beginning the process of processing all of God’s goodness and grace this past week in Costa Rica. I saw the image of God reflected in the serving hands of our team, as Christ once again expands my heart and places new sisters-in-Christ into my life. We shared an intimate experience with Jesus that binds us together with HIS Scarlet Thread for eternity!
I have included some of the pictures from my phone, simply to start “the visual memory journal” God is writing on my heart from this experience. Most of the pictures I have included in this post are delightful moments with our team. We are all learning to see the God-colors in the sometimes, seemingly insignificant moments. More pictures will come later.
Most of our pictures were taken on an actual camera, as we laid our cell phones down last week in order to be fully present.
What I can say right now is that I have never experienced God in “4D Technicolor Action” like I did while in prison!
Sound strange?
We went to Costa Rica thinking that we were serving a Kairos team, a prison ministry called “God’s special time.” God changed all of our good plans and put in HIS GOD PLANS. HE was still calling us to love HIM by loving and serving prisoners but in ways that we could have never dreamed or imagined.
We were blessed to spend time with inmates and the families of inmates, hold the babies and hands of inmates, pray with and for inmates, serve meals to and share the Gospel and testimonies with inmates and cook for and eat with the local hearts that pour Christ into the prisons daily in Costa Rica.
God was on the move and in hot pursuit of hearts. HE wooed HIS children like I have never seen before. I believe it was a glimpse of what is going on around us all the time in our ordinary lives, but we often miss it due to the worries or comforts in our everyday world.
I pray that my eyes, heart and hands stay open and that I live everyday on mission for the rest of my life. Lord help me live “this wide-open spacious life.”
2 Cor. 6:11-13 MSG
“Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!”
More to come…
