Renewal

Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God; this is our spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God.”

Happy Easter! HE is risen and I am eternally grateful! This Easter is falling on the last Sunday of our Spring Break. Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal and new beginnings. I thank God for defeating the grave and that by choosing HIM I am a new creation and I too am risen in Christ.

My oldest son has had an incredible renewal and God is so very faithful in drawing HIS children to HIMSELF! I see the light and joy in my 16 year old boys eyes and there is nothing more beautiful! He is actively seeking God and asking lots of questions about verses and ways to get closer to the True Lover of his soul! Tears of joy like spring rain are watering the garden of our home.

The verse God drew me to yesterday was Romans 12:2. Being transformed by the renewing if our minds brings comfort and hope to a teenager in the throws of what this world dangles before him and to the aging grandmother who is bedridden battling cancer. My God saves and leads us in the way everlasting at all stages of our journey!

As I sit in the hospital this Easter morning with my mom awaiting the arrival of the masses-sons, daughters, grandchildren galore -15 in all -preparing to have fellowship and food in a hospital cafeteria celebrating Jesus defeating the grave, we listened to an amazing message from Life Church, Memphis, TN. Pretty cool how God chose Romans 12:1-2 as the Scripture! Coincidence? I don’t think so! GodWink! Thought I would share my take always from the service!

Sermon notes from today:
1:Renewal starts with surrender
2:Renewal brings change
A) change happens when we receive Christ
B) our actions change as we now follow the nudges of Holy Spirit
*a comforter( pain and challenge makes us need a comforter-not defined by what we have done in our past)-no longer can the enemy make you detour with his stinkin plan!
*a Counselor-HIS advise and word to you will always lead you in Gods plan
*your Guide

C)change our words
D) changes us to a positive attitude(attack negativity in your mind-identify that that thought was not from god and it was not truth)
* we are what we are and where we are because if what goes into our minds!

3: renewal keeps us connected to Gods will

The Will of God is NOT a limitor -HIS WILL is good-pleasing -perfect! Our plan brings emptiness, dissatisfaction-guilt & shame-our plan may be temporarily fun-cool-and bring pleasure but ultimately leaves you in dispair

4: Renewal keeps us youthful and full of life-our selfish worldly desires wear us out-we live literally hung over-the light in our eyes is sucked out !

It is hard to type that fast on an IPhone during a sermon:)
I pray this post blessed you and draws you to the WORD for yourself! Let HIM bring renewal and let HIM restore your joy! HE loves us so much!

Thank you Jesus for giving me life in YOU! “Because we are risen in Christ, let us set our hearts on heavenly things and not the passing things of this world. For as far as this world is concerned we are dead and our true life is a hidden life in God through Christ Jesus”(Col 3:1-3)
