Hospital Hope

1 Cor 1:3-4-“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
For all of you who have spent anytime living in a recliner next to a hospital bed you will breath every breath of this post with me. I am currently having a “stay-cation” with my momma at the hospital. We are not sure how long we will stay. We are simply taking each moment as it comes. I am very grateful for hospital staff and doc’s who smile, laugh, make eye contact, linger, hold hands, reassure, share stories of their life, ask about yours, and pray!
Memorable moments: last night as we were winding down there was a hospital black out. In those moments you don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Mom can not function without the TV on and obviously the TV was not an option at the moment. Sooooo……….. Creativity crept in and I pulled my recliner up to the generator lighted hall and began to read a loud from the book I am currently in, with great expression I might add. It wasn’t long before mom was a sleep and only the hospital staff was enjoying the read along! Making melodies in my heart!!!!
I am leaning into the Word, relying on prayer warriors, trying to embrace the moments and never take one single breath for granted!
Due to the fact I can not get WIFI here I am resigned to blogging on my phone. I will be cutting the post a little short because my thumb hurts:)
Lord please help me to change the things I can and need to, to accept the things I can not and grant me the wisdom to know the difference! I love you Jesus! Thank you for precious memories here and for planting eternity in our hearts, knowing the best is yet to come!
